Dehradun Bar Association Election: Advocates filed nomination, voting on 27 Feb

On Tuesday, advocates filed nomination papers for the annual election of Dehradun Bar Association. The schedule was changed on Monday. Earlier the nomination was to be held on February 20. But then it was decided to be filled on 14 February.

Nominations will be withdrawn tomorrow and elections will be held on February 27. The result will come after the counting of votes on 28th. This time 3474 advocates will exercise their franchise.

Bar Association President Manmohan Kandwal said that the withdrawal of nominations will be held on February 15 from 10 am to 2 pm. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Polling will be held on February 27 from 9.30 am to 5 pm. The counting of votes will be done from 10 am the next day. Let us tell you that for the first time this year, the counting of votes will be done on the next day of voting.

Earlier, on the day of polling, the polling used to go on till late night. The advocates contesting the elections have intensified their campaigning.
