Found wife sleeping with her lover, enraged husband hacked her to death with an axe. The face of the deceased was hit several times with an axe. The police have arrested the murderer who fled from the spot. The ax was also recovered at his instance. The love affair was going on between the two for a long time. The police will present the accused in the court on Friday.
The incident took place on Wednesday night in a house under construction near Mayur Vihar of Raipur police station area. According to the police, Vinod Kumar, who runs a fast food shop near the under-construction house, informed the police that a laborer had been murdered here. Police arrived and took the dead body into custody and sent it for postmortem.

The deceased has been identified as Badri alias Vijaypal, a resident of Panna in Madhya Pradesh. His face was severely attacked with an axe. When the police investigated, it came to know that Badri used to live in a slum here. A laborer named Hariram lives with his wife in a slum nearby.
He was not in his slum since night while his wife was present there. It is learned that Badri was killed by Hariram. Police arrested Hariram from ISBT shortly after. During interrogation, Hariram told that his wife and Badri were having a love affair for a long time. Both of them drank alcohol sitting in his slum on Wednesday night. After this Badri went to his slum and Hariram also fell asleep. When Hariram woke up at night, he saw that his wife was not there. When he saw in Badri’s slum, his wife was lying on Hariram’s bed.
Assaulted his wife as well and ran away
Seeing this he became enraged. He picked up the ax lying there and hit Badri’s face one after the other. He also beat up his wife and ran away. SO Raipur Kundan Ram told that the accused was preparing to flee from Dehradun.
Wife had eloped with Badri two years ago, Panchayat imposed fine
Police investigation revealed that Hariram’s wife and Badri had a love affair for many years. Two years ago, both the families lived in Panna, Madhya Pradesh. At that time Hariram had gone somewhere with Badri’s wife. When he came back after a few days, a panchayat was sitting in the village. The panchayat reconciled Hariram by imposing a fine of Rs 50,000. Hariram and Badri were to work in Dehradun six months back.
