Haldwani: Main objective of celebrating International Girl Child Day is to promote girl child empowerment and to create awareness about the challenges faced by the girl child, protection of their rights. Said on the occasion of girl’s day.
Program of International Girl Child Day at Rampur Road was started by lighting the lamp jointly by Minister Rekha Arya, former minister and regional MLA Banshidhar Bhagat.
On the occasion of International Girl Child Day, Sanitary Napkin Kits were distributed free of cost to 3000 girls by the in-charge Minister Arya, besides Mahalakshmi Kits to eligible women and nutritional kits to malnourished children were also distributed in the program.
Daughters are not in everyone’s luck
Congratulating everyone on International Girl Child Day, District In-charge Minister Rekha Arya said that daughters are not in everyone’s luck, the house which God likes is there.
Shame, poverty, and discriminatory thinking about menstruation affect the physical and mental health of women and girls, she said.
We have to change our thinking then only we can make our life come true. We have to remove the depression of menstruation from life, it is naturally given by God.
We have to pay special attention to cleanliness during this time. We have to give special attention to daughters for protein, iron rich food.
State Govt is running many schemes for girl child
She said that state government is providing sanitary napkins at each Anganwadi and ANM centers. She said that State Government is running many schemes for girl child.
An amount of Rs 323 crore has been deposited by the State Government under Nanda Devi Gaura Dhan Yojana. She said that today daughters are ahead of sons at every stage.
She congratulated the daughters for illuminating name of the state in wait lipping and body building. She said that daughters are the toppers in today’s society in every field, we have to encourage them in every field.
On this occasion, District In-charge Minister Rekha Arya transferred the honorarium of Anganwadi workers to online accounts in the program.
Former minister and regional MLA Banshidhar Bhagat, President District Panchayat Bela Tolia and Sameer Arya also addressed the program.
