Almora: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid homage to Shaheed Nar Singh and Tika Singh by laying a wreath at the martyr memorial on the occasion of Salam Kranti Diwas in Dhamdev of Tehsil Jainti today.
The freedom fighters of this region, Nar Singh and Tika Singh, had sacrificed their lives at this place on 25 August 1942 while fighting the British. This day is celebrated every year in Dhamdev on his anniversary.
The Chief Minister said that today youth should take inspiration from the lives of Nar Singh and Tika Singh. He said that the honor of martyrs is also respect for oneself. He said that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the country has celebrated the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, remembering the brave sons of the country, under which countless such immortal martyrs of freedom were remembered. He expressed his gratitude to Janata Janardan for participating in the Har Ghar Jhanda campaign.
He said that today the country is waving its flag in the world under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Said that the situation in India has changed a lot as compared to earlier. He said that the army of the country now responds to the bullets of the enemies with bullets, for this the army has been given the freedom to take decisions.
He said that all the major temples of Kumaon would be rejuvenated and beautified under the Manas Corridor. Said that the state is moving forward in the direction of Uniform Civil Code. Several important meetings of the committee constituted for this have also been held.
He said that his government was dedicated to the development of the state. He said that the development of Jageshwar Dham would also be done on priority under the master plan. He said that last time the tender of 50 lakh announced by him for Salam has also been done. Soon the work on this will start.
He talked about doubling the state’s GDP in the next five years, for this the government is constantly striving in this direction. He also talked about making a documentary on the Salam revolution, so that the coming generation can know the history of Salam. He said that the arrival of more than three million devotees in the Chardham Yatra is a record.
