Online Registration and Resisting Holding Capacity
The Hotel Association has opposed the online registration in Chardham Yatra 2023 and the compulsion of holding capacity of Chardhams. A delegation of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Hotel Association met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and handed over the demand letter.
Representatives of the association informed the CM that the devotees coming for the Chardham Yatra should be given the option of offline registration. Along with this, the compulsion of online registration should be abolished. In its district, the compulsion of limited number for the pilgrims coming on the Yatra in Charon Dham should be removed. All the formalities of permit, fitness, green card for the vehicles coming on the yatra should be completed at Haridwar, Rishikesh.
Representatives of the Hotel Association say that any travel agent can book a slot by sitting from one place through online registration. This will lead to black marketing of registration booking. For registration of Kedarnath Dham, the facility of offline registration should be given in Fata and Sonprayag, Joshimath and Gangotri for Badrinath. The Chief Minister has invited the delegation to the meeting to be held on Tuesday.
