Uttarkashi Dalit beating in temple case, FIR lodged against victim too

Now a case has also been registered against the victim, Ayush, in the case of beating a Scheduled Caste youth for entering the temple. On the orders of the court, the police have registered a case against him under several other sections including hurting religious sentiments.

On January 9, a Scheduled Caste youth was held hostage and beaten overnight after entering the Kaul temple in Salra village of Mori. In this case, the police had registered a case against five people and arrested them. On January 21, Kartar Singh, a resident of Salra village, approached the court in this matter.

It was his allegation that Ayush, a resident of Bainol village, came to the temple and directly jumped into the dhuni burning here. Thani (man who takes care of the temple) present in the temple beat up Ramdayal. Ayush also hurt religious sentiments by destroying the symbols in the temple and entering the sanctum sanctorum.

Mori police station in-charge Mohan Singh Kathait said that after receiving the order letter from the court on Monday, a case was registered against Ayush for hurting religious sentiments, causing harm and assault.

CO Operation Uttarkashi Prashant Kumar said that, on the direction of the court, a case has been registered against Ayush. On the other hand, the deliberations in the case filed by Ayush are almost complete. The charge sheet will be filed soon in this case.
