Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday participated in the Strong Uttarakhand @ 25 Chintan Shivir at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie. During this, cabinet ministers Premchand Aggarwal, Ganesh Joshi, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Subodh Uniyal, Rekha Arya, Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog Suman Berry, Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu participated.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said during the discussion on the third day of Chintan Shivir that monkeys are causing a lot of damage to agriculture and horticulture in the state. Due to which most of the people are taking less interest in farming and horticulture. Because of this there is also migration from rural areas. Special attention needs to be paid in this direction. For this, the concerned departments will also have to work in coordination with the Forest Department. A solution to this problem should be found by organizing a workshop by the Forest Department, Agriculture Department and Horticulture Department.
Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal said that the local people will have to be connected with forests through Van Panchayats. For this efforts have to be made to increase their livelihood through forests.
Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi said that in order to provide good training to children in ITIs, special attention will have to be paid towards increasing the necessary resources and manpower in ITIs. According to the needs of the future, the works will have to be taken forward by analyzing them.
Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that One District Two Product needs to be promoted more. Efforts should be made in the field of yoga in the state to work more quickly, there are many possibilities in yoga in the state.
You will get good results from contemplation camp
NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Berry said that he has been attached to Uttarakhand for a long time. The state will get good results in the coming time from this Chintan Shivir for the overall development of the state. Efforts will be made by NITI Aayog to provide all possible cooperation to the state.
He said that special attention will have to be paid towards value addition, marketing and branding of products. The next 25 years are very important for India. India is moving fast in the field of technology.
Strong Uttarakhand @ 25 gave a presentation on the short and long term plans of the forest department and skill development on the last day of the meditation camp.
Forest department
In the presentation given by Forest Department’s Chief Conservator of Forests Anoop Malik, it was told how the department is working on long and short plans. Five new destinations will be selected and developed in the next five years to promote nature-based tourism.
Similarly, 10 new destinations will be developed in the next ten years by creating international marketing linkages. A State Action Plan will be prepared to prevent human-wildlife conflict. Also, Rapid Response Teams will be formed in sensitive areas, stake holders i.e. local residents are being trained. In order to reduce the menace of monkeys in the mountainous areas, it was told that monkeys are being sterilized by catching them. At the same time, efforts are being made to restore the traditional elephant and tiger corridors.
Ayush
Secretary Ayush Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey told the roadmap of the department regarding Ayush. He said that AYUSH has to be re-established. Uttarakhand has to be made a hub of Ayush and Yoga. Private investment is being promoted in this area. Efforts are being made to upgrade the AYUSH infrastructure. Presently 300 wellness centers are running in the state. Cell for Yoga and Naturopathy is being made.
He also informed about the certification of medicines. For this, talked about making a national level system. Emphasis was laid on increasing the production of herbs. He pointed out the lack of trained doctors and paramedical staff in the department. Efforts are being made to develop Adarsh Ayush Gram in the state. Told that homeopathy is proving to be very effective in dengue.
Industry
A presentation was also given by Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey on the efforts being made in the field of industry, in which it was told that good work is being done in Haridwar and Pantnagar Sidkul. Self-employment was emphasized for economic development. He told that after GI tagging, our marketing comes up. Efforts are being made to increase it. Good work is being done in the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme.
Special attention is being paid to tourism and service sector. Work is being done on One District Two Product. People from the industrial world are being motivated to invest maximum in the state. Special attention is also being given on GI tagging of the product. Work is also being done on the land bank for investment. Fast work is being done in speed power.
Skill Development
Secretary Skill Development Vijay Kumar Yadav said on skill development that according to the demand of the industries, the skill development department has made arrangements for training people in various fields. Arrangements have been made for long term and short term skill development. Arrangements are also being made to up-skill the faculty. Efforts are being made in this direction to train people with updated training material and infrastructure. Special training programs are also being organized in ITIs. These trainings are being done with the help of good institutions of the country. A skill hub has also been set up at ITI Sahaspur. He said that it is also necessary to have mutual coordination among the departments imparting training.
During the presentation of the Skill Development Department, District Magistrate of Nainital, Dhiraj Gabryal, suggested opening of Hunarshala in the mountains for the purpose of preserving the hill building construction style and providing employment. It was told by him that at present, the entire focus of skill development is based on the need of the industry, while we are losing our traditional skills, which can be preserved and made a major means of employment generation in the hilly areas. It was suggested by Secretary Health Dr R Rajesh Kumar to make Skill Development Department the nodal department.
During this, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, L Fanai, secretaries and senior officers were present.
