Uttarakhand Cabinet Meeting: A proposal for the supplementary budget to be presented during the upcoming assembly session can be brought in the state cabinet meeting on Monday. Along with this, many other proposals can be discussed.
The attitude of the state agitators on the issue of 10 percent horizontal reservation is strong. Everyone’s eyes are on the stand of the Uttarakhand government in this matter. A decision on this can be taken in the cabinet meeting to be held on Monday.
This meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at 4 pm on Monday. Prohibition of copying in government services bill, construction of green building in Dehradun under smart city plan by Urban Development Department and proposal of new revenue code can also be put up for discussion in the meeting.
In the meeting, proposals for rehabilitation and displacement of Song Dam project, service rules of various departments, representations to be tabled in the Vidhan Sabha can also be discussed.
BJP leader Ravindra Jugran, former president of the State Movement Honor Council, said that the subject of horizontal reservation is the state government’s. To whom and how much reservation is to be given, it is for the government to decide.
In a statement, BJP leader Jugran said that the opinion of the Department of Justice cannot be taken as final on any issue. Even on 30 percent horizontal reservation for women, the government has shown strong will, contrary to the opinion of the Department of Justice. Now the government is bringing a bill on this in the assembly.
The 10 percent horizontal reservation given to the Uttarakhand agitators is completely constitutional. The government has given horizontal reservation considering it as a special category. After independence, this reservation is being given to the families of freedom fighters on the basis of special category.
