Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has called a high-level meeting today in connection with the landslide in Joshimath. In this meeting to be held at the State Secretariat, major decisions can be taken on the rehabilitation of the affected families in Joshimath and the city’s revitalization action plan. After this, the Chief Minister will go to Joshimath Ground Zero on Saturday and take stock of the situation. On Thursday, the Chief Minister had instructed Secretary Disaster Management Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha to constitute an expert team and conduct a study after visiting the affected area. The expert team has reached Joshimath.
Let us inform that the people of the area are in panic due to cracks coming in buildings, roads and fields in Joshimath and water seeping at some places. On the instructions of the district administration, temporary rehabilitation of people is being done at safer places.
According to sources, the Chief Minister, who returned from Kumaon, took the report of the officials regarding Joshimath in the evening. Now on Friday, he has called a meeting on this issue. Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu, officials of Disaster Management Department, DM of Chamoli, Commissioner of Garhwal, officers related to Irrigation, PWD, Finance Department will be present in the meeting.
It is believed that the roadmap for Joshimath’s disaster management can be discussed in the meeting. After taking the decision, the Chief Minister will reach Joshimath on Saturday and hold a meeting with the expert team sent there, the district administration and representatives associated with the Save Joshimath campaign. The Chief Minister will also visit the affected areas and meet the affected families.
