Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced to contribute one month’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for relief work in Joshimath landslide. It is believed that after this announcement by the Chief Minister, the possibility of other ministers and assembly members also giving salary to the relief fund has increased.
Demolition work will start today in Joshimath which has been hit by landslide. Despite the order of the government, the process of demolition of the buildings could not be started on Tuesday.
When the team of the district administration reached to demolish the building with Lav-Lashkar, the affected people came out in protest. In such a situation, the demolition process was postponed till Wednesday. There was an atmosphere of chaos throughout the day regarding this.
Hotel Mount View and Malari Inn were to be demolished in Joshimath on Tuesday, but the hotel owners started protesting against the action. He said that the economic evaluation was not done, as well as the notice was not even given.
When the protest increased, the administration had to step back. However, the officials say something else. Secretary Disaster Management Dr. Ranjit Sinha said that cranes are needed to demolish tall buildings, which could not be found there. That’s why a crane has been sent from Dehradun, which will reach there on Wednesday.
