A new strain of corona virus XBB 1.5 was found in a person from Dehradun who returned from America. Sampling of the person was done at Delhi airport, in which infection was found. A new strain has been found in the genome sequencing of the sample of the infected at Government Doon Medical College.
Due to this strain, cases of Kovid are increasing in America. XBB 1.5 is a variant of strain Omicron. Recently, a person from Dehradun who had returned from America was sampled at Delhi airport. Although, the said person did not have any symptoms of corona infection, but the investigation found corona infected. Genome sequencing of the sample of the infected person was done on this. X BB 1.5 strain has been confirmed.
According to Secretary Health Dr R Rajesh Kumar, X BB 1.5 strain is a variant of Omicron. People need not panic because of this. The infected person is healthy. He told that full vigilance and monitoring is being done in China for the prevention of Corona virus BS-7 variant, but so far no case of BS-7 strain has come to the fore.
