Chamoli: Kedar Singh Phonia, senior BJP leader and former cabinet minister in the Uttarakhand government, has passed away. He was ill for a long time.
Kedar Singh Phonia had made an active contribution to the politics of Uttarakhand for almost 2 decades. Apart from Uttarakhand, Phonia had also been cabinet minister in Uttar Pradesh government.
He played an important role during the Uttarakhand state building movement.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also condoled the death of former cabinet minister Phonia.
He wrote that, death news of Kedar Singh Phonia, senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and former cabinet minister, is extremely sad. May God grant departed soul place at his feet and strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense pain.
