Dehradun: Chief Minister (CM) Pushkar Dhami has ordered an inquiry into the SI recruitment in 2015-16. The Chief Minister said that those found guilty in the investigation will be charged with Rasuka and gangsters and property will also be confiscated. Earlier on Friday, the Police Headquarters had sent a proposal to the government to get the inspector recruitment done by Vigilance or any other independent agency. This recommendation has stirred up the constables of this batch.
Pantnagar University had conducted the recruitment exam for 339 posts of Inspectors. Apart from the recruitment scam of Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission, after the STF got the investigation of two more recruitments, all the posts questioning the recruitment of 2015-16 had gone viral on social media. Constant questions were being raised that why the police department, which made disclosures in other recruitments, is not investigating its own recruitments? Departmental sources said that if the police had investigated the policemen, then questions were bound to arise on this. For this reason, the Police Headquarters sent a proposal to the Home Department to get it investigated by Vigilance or any other independent agency.
Photo of two constables with Hakam went viral The matter sprang up when the photo of two constables of the year 2015-16 with Hakam Singh Rawat, the main accused in the recent recruitment scam, went viral. Hakam Singh himself had put it at the time of recruitment on social media. He addressed these inspectors as younger brothers and said that he had gone to join them for training. It is also being told that these inspectors had passed in that recruitment with very good numbers. After the matter gained momentum in the social media, the pressure on the police to investigate this recruitment also increased.
Hakam and Manral also mentioned many more names, however, the police headquarters did not accept the demand for an inquiry into the recruitment of Inspector on the basis of the photo of Hakam arrested in the recruitment scam. Sources say that during the interrogation of the STF, Hakam also disclosed the names of some of the constables. Apart from this recruitment scam, Ramnagar’s mining businessman Chandan Manral and UP’s Kendrapal have also mentioned the names of many constables in the interrogation of STF. All these names have all been included in the investigation. Apart from this, some things related to this recruitment have also come to the fore in the interrogation of the former ARO of Pantnagar University, arrested last day.
