A house has been completely damaged by heavy boulder coming from the hill due to landslide at 1.30 pm on Friday night in Paingarh village, revenue area of Tharali tehsil of Chamoli district. Due to which four out of five people of the same family sleeping inside the house have died while one has been seriously injured who has been referred to the Higher Center after first aid at the Community Health Center.
Another four residential houses were also damaged. Tharali police station sub-inspector Sunit Banduni said that on Friday night and in the early hours of Saturday, information was received that a building has been damaged due to landslide in Paingarh, revenue area. Where some people are buried. On whose information the team of Sub-Inspector Sumit Banduni Maya Police Force, NDRF and SDRF from Thana Tharali left for the spot with disaster equipment.
After reaching the spot, rescue and relief work was started with the local people. After about five hours of hard work, all the trapped people were rescued. Out of which Bachuli Devi wife Mal Dutt, resident of Pengarh Tehsil Tharali district Chamoli age 75 years, Devanand son Mal Dutt age 57 years, Ghananand son Mal Dutt age 45 years died on the spot.
While the injured Sunita Devi wife Ghananand resident of Karnprayag sent for treatment, the above age 37 years have died during treatment, while Yogesh son Ghananand resident age 15 years has been referred to the Higher Center. The action of Panchayat Nama of all the dead is being done by the Revenue Police.
