Rishikesh: In preliminary investigation of administration regarding ‘Vanantara resort’ related to the Ankita Bhandari murder case in Ganga Bhogpur, it has been revealed that map was not passed for the resort. This resort has been built keeping in mind the rules and regulations.

By misleading villagers in Ganga Bhogpur Talla, their land was bought at throwaway prices. About 12 years ago, Pulkit Arya’s father, former liability holder and BJP leader Dr. Vinod Arya had bought about two bighas of land here from the villagers.
Proper registry and admission of this land is also in name of Arya family. After purchasing the land, Dr. Vinod Arya had set up plant to make Amla Candy here.
When this plant started, dirty water was coming out of it became problem for local people. It is being told that in year 2017-18, Pulkit Arya converted above part of this factory into resort. About 10-12 rooms were built here.
Along with this, plant of Amla Candy also continued here in another part. Initially Pulkit Arya rented out this resort for operation. A person of Bengal origin operated this resort for some time.
However, resort did not work and he left. Later Pulkit Arya himself took over this resort. It is being told that tourists rarely used to come here. But, this resort definitely became den of debauchery for Pulkit Arya.
Pauri district administration has started an investigation into Vanantara Resort after this incident. In the preliminary investigation, it was found that the map of this construction had not been approved by any authority.
After murder of Ankita, along with this resort, many questions have been raised on operation of many such resorts. People have alleged that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is in the grip of such low-minded people?
These people promote drugs in name of tourism, do prostitution. Overall, after Ankita murder case, all resorts and hotels of Uttarakhand have come under scanner. Now it remains to be seen whether police and the government together investigate other resorts and hotels after this matter.
