A demand has been raised to make a provision of Rs 2500 crore in the budget for the development of summer capital Gairsain. The one who raised this demand is Surendra Singh Negi, former MLA of Karnprayag. He has written a letter to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami mentioning the announcement of the then Chief Minister on November 9, 2020, in which Rs 25,000 crore would be spent in 10 years for the future development of Gairsain.
He said that on the State Foundation Day itself, the CM had also announced the formation of a committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary for the development of Gairsain. Principal Secretary Forest, Housing, Urban Development, Drinking Water, Irrigation, Finance and the then Special Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate were made member secretaries in this committee.
In the letter, Negi requested to make a provision of Rs 2500 crore for the next financial year 2023-24 for the development of Gairsain in the budget to be presented during the session convened from March 13 in Bharadisain assembly. Along with this, he also expected the Chief Minister to take effective action at the level of the committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary.
