Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while laying the foundation stone of four major projects worth Rs 1822 crore in Gorakhpur on Sunday evening, said that the triple engine government brings development at the speed of a bullet train.
Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of four major development projects related to flyover, four-lane, drainage and sewerage, costing Rs. 1822 crore in Gorakhpur today, Mr. Yogi said that due to having a double engine government of the same ideology in the center and the state, Uttar Pradesh will be successful. Rapid development is possible.
He said that when there is a government of the same ideology at the local level as well, then the triple engine government takes forward the development works at the speed of a bullet train. Gorakhpur has such a triple engine government. He said that the presence of all the nine MLAs, District Panchayat President and Mayor in Gorakhpur district is the result that development works are progressing at a rapid pace here and we all have to ensure that this pace of development does not stop.
Chief Minister said that there is no dearth of funds for development works. It is also the responsibility of the citizens to join the process of development, preserve the works done and take forward what is happening in a time-bound manner. There is no alternative to development. It is only through development that changes come in the lives of the citizens, employment is created. He directed the officers of the executing agencies to complete all the projects in a time-bound manner, taking special care of the standard and quality.
CM Yogi said that Gorakhpur, earlier infamous for mafia anarchy and disorder, has been presented by the state government as a model of development. Till the year 2017, the health system here was in ruins. Today AIIMS is here, BRD Medical College has super specialty services. In place of the closed fertilizer factory in the year 1990, the new factory is producing fertilizers at the rate of 105 percent. This food provider is working as a panacea for the farmers. A Sainik School is coming up in the premises of the fertilizer factory itself, which will start in the next academic session.
He said that every road in Gorakhpur is four-lane, so the Gorakhpur-Lucknow road is going to be six-lane. The distance from Gorakhpur-Varanasi Fourlane to Varanasi has been reduced to two and a half to three hours. The connectivity of roads is also solving the problem of jam. Excellent air connectivity is also available in Gorakhpur. There are 14 flight services from here to major cities like Delhi-Mumbai-Bangalore etc. The government is providing funds for the new airport here.
He said that Ramgarhtal, which was a stronghold of crime till eight-ten years ago, has developed into the most beautiful place. Films are being shot here now. Four universities are functional in Gorakhpur. Apart from AIIMS and Medical College, a large number of hospitals and services of thousands of private doctors are available here. Gorakhpur has become the hub of education and medicine. Investment is coming in Gorakhpur. Local youths are getting jobs and employment here, while people from all over the country and the world are also coming here for jobs and employment.
Appreciating the cooperation of the citizens of Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister said that the citizens of Gorakhpur never obstructed the development works. Whenever it came to the widening of roads, people agreed to give part of their houses and establishments. Asuran-Medical College Fourlane, Airforce, Circuit House Fourlane, Mohaddipur, Jungle Kaudia Fourlane are proof of this.
Referring to the Gorakhpur Sewerage Scheme Zone C Part-2, the Chief Minister said that under this sewerage network will be prepared for 21 wards including Jungle Benimadhav, Old Gorakhpur, Kalyanpur, Civil Lines, Ramjanki Nagar, Chaksa Hussain, Janpriya Vihar, Suryakund. Sewer connections will be made available to 44 thousand houses by laying 188 km sewer line in the city.
On this occasion, at the foundation stone laying ceremony, MP Ravikishan Shukla said that the opponents have nothing to speak against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. They have stopped speaking of the opponents from the development works. There has been so much development in Gorakhpur under his leadership that now it is everyone’s dream to live in Gorakhpur. Yogi ji is being hailed in the elections of Gujarat on the basis of his works.
Referring to the unprecedented change in law and order under Yogi’s leadership, Shukla said that today no goon-mafia has the courage to grab someone’s land or demand extortion from any businessman.
During the programme, the Chief Minister honored the beneficiaries of schemes run by PM Swanidhi Yojana, Prime Minister-Chief Minister Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Agriculture and Horticulture Department by giving them certificates. The Chief Minister also inspected the project stalls set up by the Public Works Department, Jal Nigam and Setu Nigam before laying the foundation stone.
On this occasion, Mayor Sitaram Jaiswal, BJP Regional President and MLC Dr. Dharmendra Singh, MLA Mahendrapal Singh, Vipin Singh, Fateh Bahadur Singh, Shriram Chauhan, Dr. Vimlesh Paswan, Pradeep Shukla, BJP District President Yudhishthir Singh, Metropolitan President Rajesh Gupta etc. were prominently present.
