48 Pak pilgrims visited Uttarakhand, emotional respect at Hemkund Sahib

Chamoli: Sikh devotees reached Uttarakhand from Pakistan with immense reverence in their mind. A batch of Sikhs from Pakistan reached Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara on Tuesday. This batch has reached Sikh religious place under the leadership of Satendra Pal Singh of Pakistan. This information has been given by the trustees of Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara Management Trust of Rishikesh. 48 Sikh pilgrims were accorded loud welcome.
Giving information, NS Bindra, chairman of Management Committee of Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara, said that 48 Sikh pilgrims who came from Pakistan after informing the Foreign Relations Officer of the district reached Sikh religious place where they had darshan. Sikh pilgrims from Pakistan received this welcome and others present there were very happy and emotional.
Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara is in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It is at an altitude of 15,000 feet above sea level. Every year lakhs of pilgrims come here. One has to register to come here. Pilgrimage to Sikh religious place is disrupted from October to April as there is a lot of snow here. To reach here one has to trek 6 kms.
