Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar asked the police officers to talk politely to the tourists coming on New Year, but those found creating ruckus should be strictly taught the rules. If you still do not agree, then take them to the police station.
DGP was reviewing the traffic plan of four districts (Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri and Nainital) on Thursday. During this, DIGs of both the ranges were also present in the video conferencing.
Uttarakhand DGP said that publicity should be given to make the traffic plans prepared by the districts accessible to the public. The diversion, one way etc. arrangements that have been made should be followed properly. Every CPU, cavalry, traffic police force should be engaged to teach a lesson to those who violate the rules.
DJ will stop at 10 pm, bar will open till 12 pm
On New Year’s Eve, DJs in the city will be able to play only till 10 pm. Whereas, the chance to eat food in the restaurant and spill jam in the bar will be available till 12 midnight. SSP Dalip Singh Kunwar has issued instructions in this regard.
In this episode, on Thursday, Rajpur Police Station President Jitendra Chauhan along with the team reviewed the security arrangements in view of possible programs in all the bars and restaurants of Rajpur Road. All restaurant and bar owners were informed about the order. Along with this, a copy of the orders has also been pasted.
- Additional traffic personnel and hawk mobiles should be deployed in Dehradun, Haridwar to Rishikesh and Mussoorie for traffic management.
- Only tourists with hotel booking should be allowed to go towards Nainital and Mussoorie.
Districts Pauri, Tehri Garhwal and Dehradun should prepare a diversion plan with mutual coordination. - Information about the traffic plan issued regarding the traffic system should be given to the general public in time.
- Mounted Police, CPU Unit, Crane Unit should also be used.
- Prepare a diversion and one-way plan to deal with the jam.
- Towing and clamping action should be taken on vehicles parked in no-parking.
- Action should be taken against those who create ruckus in the name of celebration, over speed and drivers who drive in a state of intoxication.
- The in-charge of the concerned police station/outpost will also be responsible for the strong and well-organized traffic system in his area.
