Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Himalayan Ecosystem’ brainstorming program along with Principal Scientific Adviser, Government of India, Hasco, U-Cost and other subject experts under Uttarakhand @ 25 – Adarsh Champawat in Chief Sevak Sadan located in Chief Minister’s Office.
Chief Minister Dhami said that Uttarakhand is not only a hill state, it is also an integral part of the Himalayan ecosystem. Bodhisattva programs were organized with subject experts on various issues related to the development of Uttarakhand. Under this, self-reliant Uttarakhand @ 25 was envisaged in the presence of Dr. Rajiv Kumar, the then Vice-Chairman of NITI Aayog and Dr. K Vijay Raghavan, the then Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India and experts from several leading institutions.
He said that when Uttarakhand will celebrate the silver jubilee of the state’s establishment in 2025, the state government is trying to bring the state among the leading states in every field by then. All departments have been targeted for this.
Chief Minister Dhami said that everyone will have to contribute to make Uttarakhand the best state. Champawat district has been taken as model district to make Uttarakhand an ideal state. Champawat district consists of plain, high and middle Himalayan region. UCOST has been made nodal to make Champawat a model district.
He said, in this age of science and technology, there is a need to pay special attention to research, research and innovation. It is the endeavor of the state government that the local people get maximum employment and self-employment opportunities in their area. There is immense potential for work in the field of agriculture, horticulture, tourism, energy in Uttarakhand. Work is being done in coordination between economy and ecology. Along with development, continuous efforts are being made in the direction of water conservation, environmental protection.
On this occasion the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Padma Bhushan Dr. Anil Prakash Joshi, Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu, Scientific Secretary Principal Scientific Adviser Dr. Parvinder Maini, DG UCOST Prof. Durgesh Pant and other respected people were present.
