Lucknow: Rihai Manch General Secretary Rajiv Yadav told to News Readers correspondent that at behest of the BJP government, Uttar Pradesh police is crushing limits of the Constitution and the law. Illegally arresting “Satyagrahis” and Imposing NSA on Dr Kafeel is living example.
He said that ten “Satyagrahis” (Gentle Protesters) who had gone on a journey from Chauri Chaura to Rajghat to spread the views of Mahatma Gandhi were arrested in Ghazipur. Also, the incident of arresting Dr. Kafeel on charges of addressing student’s strike in Aligarh against CAA, NRC and after bail imposition of NSA (National Security Act) is an living example.
Rajiv Yadav said that the criminal language like ‘Thok do’ (Encounter) and ‘Revenge’ by Chief Minister of UP Yogi Adityanath just motivates the police force to take such illegal action.
Rihai Manch general secretary said that even after the Supreme Court granted bail, he had made harsh remarks against imposition of NSA to obstruct the Manch. Despite this, Uttar Pradesh Police is taking such actions at the instigation of the Yogi government.
He said that police of the state government becomes deaf at the time when cases of violence or oppression against the deprived society come up.
Rajiv said that “Ambedkar Katha” was organized by Dalit society (Lower caste) in Kanpur with permission by police. After which the people of upper caste surrounded the entire Dalit colony and attacked violently.
Many people, including women, children and old men broke their hands and feet, but no statement of came from UP CM, nor there was seen any tolerable activity in police action.
The General Secretary of Manch demanded that along with Dr. Kafeel all “Satyagrahis” who were illegally arrested by police, should be immediately released.
