Srinagar: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists at Kilbal in Shopian district in south Kashmir on Saturday.
On the basis of intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists, the army and police launched a cordon and search operation in Kilbal.
When the security forces approached the suspected spot in the residential area, the terrorists hiding there started firing.
In retaliation, the security forces also opened fire and after this an encounter started between the two sides.
He said that one or two terrorists may be hiding in the area. Security forces have sealed all entry and exit points in the area.
