Lucknow: The Communist Party of India has described the latest Supreme Court verdict in the matter of promotion in government jobs as disappointing. Party leader said that the policies of BJP and its government are responsible for this. The party’s state secretary Sudhakar Yadav called the order against social justice. At the same time, Dalit leader and Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment in Modi government Ramdas Athawale welcomed the decision of SC, ST Act of the Supreme Court, but disagreed on the decision of reservation in promotion.
Communist Party leader Sudhakar Yadav said to The Gandhigiri reporter that in the practical implementation of this order, reservation will be stopped for the deprived groups in jobs. This is also what the BJP and its parent organization RSS want. The RSS chief has also expressed it on several occasions. The male leader said that leaving the reservation at the discretion of the governments is a step backwards rather than going forward in democracy.
Dalit leader Athawale said that soon a delegation of MPs, along with senior leaders of the cabinet of Dalit society, will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demand that the bill be brought in favor of reservation in promotion in Parliament.
Athawale said that the decision taken by the Supreme Court regarding the reservation in promotion is an unjust factor and not in accordance with the spirit of the Constitution. He said that along with the members of Parliament from other societies, including Ram Vilas Paswan, Arjun Munda, Arjun Meghwal, soon on this case, meeting PM Modi and bringing the bill in favor of reservation in promotion in Parliament, included in the 9th list of the Constitution.
