Rahul Gandhi on Odisha train accident, PM Modi not takes any responsibility

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said that the BJP and the RSS are “incompetent” to see the future and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to drive an Indian car by looking only in the rearview mirror which will lead to “accidents one after the other”.

Gandhi on Sunday addressed a large community event at the Javits Center organized by the Indian Overseas Congress – USA, as he wrapped up his US tour that included visits to San Francisco and Washington DC.

Rahul said, “Back home we have a problem, and I will tell you the problem. BJP and RSS are unable to see the future. Ask him anything, he just looks back.”

He said that if you ask the BJP why the train accident happened? So they will say that the Congress party did this 50 years ago. Taking a dig at the government after the Odisha train accident, Rahul said, one of the worst railway accidents in the country.

The accident involving three trains killed about 275 people and focused attention on the issue of railway safety. The opposition is demanding the resignation of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.

Gandhi said that if you ask the BJP why they removed the periodic table from textbooks, they will say what the Congress party did 60 years ago.

“Their immediate reaction” is to look back, he said. This is the incident of Narendra Modi ji. He is trying to drive an Indian car and he only looks in the rearview mirror and he doesn’t understand why this car is crashing, not moving forward. BJP, RSS, all of them have the same idea.”

He said, “You listen to him. You listen to his ministers. You listen to the prime minister, you will never find him talking about the future. He will only talk about the past and he will always make some excuse for the past.” Will blame someone else.”

He said that the train accident happened when the Congress party was in power, did not say that it was the fault of the British that the train accident happened. The Congress minister had admitted that it was his responsibility that the train met with an accident.

He said that the battle going on in India is a battle of two ideologies in which Mahatma Gandhi is on one side and Nathuram Godse on the other.

The former Congress president said at the community event, “There is a fight going on in the house – a fight between two ideologies. One we represent and the other of course the BJP and the RSS represent. I think the simplest way to describe this fight is that on one side you have Mahatma Gandhi and on the other, you have Nathuram Godse.”
