Strong earthquake tremors in the US state of Alaska

Alaska: Strong tremors of the earthquake were felt in the American state of Alaska, located in the northwestern end of the North American continent. The earthquake measured 7.8 on the Richter scale.

The US Geological Survey Center reported that tsunami warnings have been issued due to its location in Canada to the east, the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Pacific Ocean to the southwest, and Russia to the west.

Alaska is the largest state in the 50 states of the United States by area.

About half the population of Alaska is 6,83,478 living in its Anchorage metropolis.

Earlier, strong tremors were felt in Fiji, which measured 6.0 on the Richter scale.

The US Geological Survey Center reported that the epicenter of the earthquake felt at 20:56:24 on Tuesday was 602.12 kilometers below the surface of the Earth in latitude 20.8319 degrees south and longitude 178.5723 west.
