Kyiv: A Ukrainian official told BNO news that at least eight people were died and 24 wounded in a Russian missile attack in Kyiv.
There were several loud explosions in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv early on Monday. Major explosions have been reported in Kyiv following the sound of incoming missiles.
There were no immediate reports of casualties. Reuters reported that explosions also occurred in Lviv, Ternopil and Zhytomyr in the west of Ukraine, and in Dnipro in central Ukraine.
A spokesman for the emergency service in Kyiv told the AP that there are people killed and injured. Svitlana Vodolga said rescuers are now working at different locations.

The Kyiv Independent said in a report that four explosions were heard around the city this morning and smoke was reported from a spot in the center after Russian missile attack.
After a few months of relatively calmness in the Ukrainian capital, several explosions took place early in the morning.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitchko informed about the explosion in Shevchenko in the heart of Kyiv. There are many government offices in this area.
Ukrainian lawmaker Lesia Vasilenko tweeted a photo of the explosion near the main building of the Kyiv National University in central Kyiv.
Kyiv emergency services spokeswoman Svitlana Vodolaga told The Associated Press (AP) that there were casualties and rescuers were working at various sites. It is not yet clear how many people were injured in the blasts.
