Lucknow: Senior politician Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away today. There is a wave of mourning everywhere on his death. Everyone is condoling death of Mr. Yadav. Some politicians are calling him a mass leader and remembering his habit of sticking to the ground.
Mr. Yadav has been an MLA for 10 times while he has been an MP for 7 times. He was once considered a strong contender for the post of Prime Minister.
From 1996 to 98, he was the Defense Minister of the country. Mulayam took many big decisions while being the Defense Minister. But one of his decisions is still very commendable.
Big Decision of Mulayam
Actually, Mulayam Singh Yadav had taken a big decision regarding the soldiers who were posted on the border of the country. Till that time the soldiers of any martyr did not reach his house.
At that time only the caps of martyr soldiers were brought to their homes. However, Mulayam Singh Yadav changed this practice. They brought the law. This was implemented.
After the enactment of this law, if any soldier is martyred, then his body is carried with respect to his ancestral home. Not only this, his funeral is also done with state honors.
District DM and SP are also present. During Mulayam Singh Yadav’s tenure as Defense Minister, India had made a big deal in Sukhoi-30 aircraft.
Born on 22 November 1939 in Saifai, Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, Yadav’s family is counted among the most prominent political families of the country.
He was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in the years 1989, 1991, 1993 and 2003 and also the Defense Minister of the country from 1996 to 98.
After taking the Samajwadi Party to the summit, Yadav handed over his throne to his son Akhilesh Yadav after the SP got an absolute majority in the 2012 assembly elections.
