Only cosmetic surgeons and dermatologists will do hair transplant for patient suffering from baldness In Uttarakhand. State Medical Council has fixed the rules regarding this. These rules have also been approved by the National Medical Commission.
Growing Baldness Problem
At present, the problem of baldness is increasing in people due to many reasons. People’s hair is falling at an early age. In such a situation, the demand for hair transplant is increasing significantly. A large number of youth are getting hair transplant done, due to which it has taken the form of business. Till now there is no rule for hair transplant, along with MBBS doctors, BDS and BAMS doctors are also doing hair transplant. It can also put people’s lives in danger.
Life threatening due to wrong transplant
The process of hair transplant is complicated, but many people have made it a business. Transplant cases are also getting worse due to lack of sufficient experience and expertise in surgery. A large number of people had complained to the Medical Council in this regard. The council has also received a complaint in the past alleging the death of a youth after a hair transplant.
On this, the council has now made rules for hair transplant. Council’s deputy registrar Dr. DD Choudhary told that now no doctor other than cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist can do hair transplant in the state. If any complaint is received in this regard even after this, then action will be taken against the doctors concerned. However, if a BDS or BAMS doctor does a hair transplant, then the council does not have the right to act on it. The council can refer the matter to the concerned council. In such a situation, apart from Uttarakhand Medical Council, other councils of the state also need to make rules in this regard.
What is hair transplant?
Hair transplant is a surgical method. Under this, hair is taken from the back or side of the head, where there is thick hair, it is planted in the area where there is no hair. Because some individuals do not have much hair on the head, chest and beard hair can also be planted on the head. There is a surgery sitting of five to six hours a week for the transplant. Under this, only a few hairs are transplanted on the person’s head. The entire hair is grafted in several sittings. The whole process takes eight to ten weeks. Apart from anesthesia, other specialists are also needed in this surgery.
