Haridwar News: Accused of killing 12 people won election, arrested later

Haridwar News: 12 people lost their lives due to consumption of raw liquor between Panchayat elections in Phulgarh and Shivgarh areas. A person named Bijendra was arrested in liquor scandal, but now another twist has come in this case.

Here Babli Devi, wife of Bijendra, accused of liquor scandal, has won ‘Pradhan’ election. Let us tell you that Babli and Bijendra’s brother is also an accused in liquor scandal, but both of them are away from grip of police. While Bijendra is in jail.

Incredibility, Babli Devi made record by winning election by one vote. When election results came out, Babli’s victory by one vote surprised everyone.

Babli got 859 votes and her rival Swati got 858 votes. After winning election of village, Babli Devi, accused of liquor scandal, has been arrested. While one of accused in liquor case is absconding so far.

Babli’s, relatives and supporters allege that police have falsely implicated Bijendra. That’s why he has made Babli win the election with all his hard work. This matter has become topic of discussion in whole district.

Let us inform that, 12 villagers had died due to consumption of raw liquor in Phulgarh and Shivgarh of Pathri. On the first day, administration kept denying that villagers died due to drinking alcohol. But, administration had to come on back foot when death toll increased next day.

In this case, police had busted whole matter by arresting Bijendra, husband of Babli, main accused. Police had told that Bijendra had made raw liquor in his field six months ago and distributed it by filling it in bottles of cold drink.

Police had also recovered raw liquor after digging field from JCB on basis of spot. Later, matter was handed over to the SIT. Babli Devi, accused of liquor scandal has been arrested after winning election of village.
