UP Law Minister Brijesh Pathak announce 5000 monthly financial assistance for young lawyers

Lucknow. A delegation of Uttar Pradesh Bar Council met Law Minister Brijesh Pathak on Tuesday for their demands and problems. In this meeting held at minister’s residence, Brijesh Pathak agreed to many demands of lawyers. Delegation also reminded to Law Minister about promises made in BJP’s manifesto during 2017 assembly elections. In which BJP had asked young lawyers to provide financial assistance of Rs 5000 per month.

Law Minister Brijesh Pathak asked for list of all new lawyers registered within last three years. This aids will be paid within 7 days. In addition, Law Minister has also increased age limit in the amount of assistance given on untimely death of lawyers. Now the government will provide financial assistance of 5 lakh to the families of lawyers who die within 70 years. Earlier this age was 60 years.

UP government has released Rs 20 crore for “Corpus Fund” made under this head with immediate effect. After this the Corpus Fund has now become 200 crores. Delegation demanded to increase the fund up to 400 crores. On this, Principal Secretary Justice said that a proposal has been sent for the approval. Funds will be released as soon as after approval from the government.

Law Minister assured to delegation that BJP government is serious about the problems of law society. Their interests will not be affected due to lack of funds. This government is also committed to the protection of lawyers and courts. Former lawyer of UP Bar Council and advocate of Lucknow High Court Prashant Singh Atal along with other lawyers and justice officers were presented with delegation to meet law minister.
