Ranchi: In the politics of Bihar, Peepli Live movie’s “Mahagai Daayan” has come alive once again. “Mahangai Dayan Song” is the same but this time the opposition has changed.
Tejashwi Yadav, senior leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly, has made a filmy taunt on the BJP. He once again took a jibe at the BJP by using the “Mahangai Dayan Song” from the Peepli Live movie.
He said that, “BJP used to sing Mahangai Daayan song…, for them inflation has now become Bhaujai and Mehboob.”
Tejashwi Yadav, while addressing the RJD workers organized at the Carnival Hall in Ranchi, said, “Today petrol has reached above Rs 100 in the country, everyone is upset. The employment of the youth is being snatched away.”
“Farmers are devastated and troubled. There is time for the Prime Minister to meet the capitalists, but no time to meet the farmers,” he said.
He said that Jharkhand is a state full of mineral wealth, the Central Government is not returning Jharkhand to Jharkhand in proportion to what Jharkhand gives to the country.
“Jharkhand is being discriminated against. Similar favoritism was also done by the central government to Bihar during the RJD regime. Everyone knows the story of Bihar, no need to tell anyone.
The RJD leader said that he has come to develop old Bihar (Jharkhand). Jharkhand is a state rich in mineral wealth. The development here has been stopped by the central government.
Tejashwi said, the Center does not return the liability which is due to the Center. They want Jharkhand to be strong. This work will be done with clear vision and concerted effort. The old workers should be reunited so that the organization can be strengthened. He said that when JMM, Congress are strong then RJD will also be strong.
“Mahangai Dayan Song” why became famous?
In the year 2010, the song “Sakhi saiyaan to khub hi kamat hai mahangai dayan khaye jaat hai” from the movie “Peepli Live” became very famous. The main reason for the popularity of this song was its use by the opposition parties as a political satire.
Let us inform that in the year 2010, the Prime Minister of the Congress-led Central Government was Dr. Manmohan Singh and Nitish Kumar was taking over as the Chief Minister in the then Bihar with the support of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) led by former Chief Minister Lalu Yadav.
At that time, the BJP was the main opposition party, which had staged protests across the country singing the “Mahangai Dayan Song”, targeting the government over the increased inflation.
