World Health Day being celebrated today

Today is World Health Day. The theme this year is Health for All. Every year this day is organised on 7th April to coincide with the setting up of the World Health Organisation, WHO in 1948.

This year the world health body is observing its 75th anniversary. In a message, the World Health Organization said the idea is to make the global community aware of the strides in public health that have helped improve the quality of life over the past 7 decades. It is also a call for action to tackle health challenges.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the government will continue working to augment health infrastructure and ensure quality healthcare to the people.

The Prime Minister made these remarks on ‘World Health day’, which is being observed around the world today. In a tweet, Mr Modi said that country expressed gratitude to all those who work to make the planet healthier.

April 7th  is marked as World Health Day, to commemorate the foundation of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948.

The theme for World Health Day 2023 is ‘Health For All’.

Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya also wished people and reiterated government’s commitment towards building a healthier India. In a tweet, he said a slew of initiatives taken by the government towards ensuring health for all.
