Tejashwi becomes leader of Grand Alliance, Congress to contest 70 and RJD 144 seats

Patna: Tejashwi has been elected as the leader of the grand alliance among all parties, including the RJD, Congress, CPI, VIP, who were in the Grand Alliance before the Bihar Assembly elections. With this, a consensus has been reached on the seat sharing between the parties.

The Congress will contest 70 seats in Bihar assembly elections and RJD will also get support in one seat in the Lok Sabha by-election. Apart from this, RJD will contest 144 seats.

Of these 144 seats, some seats will also go to JMM and VIP party. This is yet to be discussed in the party.

On the other hand, the CPM has got 4 seats, CPI 6 seats, Male has 19 seats to contest in the Grand Alliance.

Earlier, Tejashwi Yadav said during the conference that ‘I am confident that all the parties have expressed confidence in my leadership, I will live up to everyone’s promises’.

He said that Bihar’s double engine government is in ICU. Did not set up a factory in 15 years, exploited the farmers. The farmers of Bihar continued to grow poorer.

Congress leader Avinash Pandey hit out at Modi, saying that he “hijacked the majority of the public”. Lalu Yadav has always supported the Congress. Even after our internal differences, secular and constitutionalist parties have come together.

Recently, the RLSP, which had left the Grand Alliance, had close discussions with the NDA. However, party president Upendra Kushwaha has decided to field candidates separately in the election.

Kushwaha has said that his party does not fall under the category of Votkatwa. Nor is his party to support anyone.

He stressed that the people of Bihar are bored of RJD and JDU, hence RLSP is to give meaningful alternative to the people of Bihar.

On the other hand, in the meeting of LJP’s parliamentary committee, the party can take some important decisions related to Bihar assembly elections.

Actually, seats have not been divided in the NDA yet. Chirag is constantly meeting BJP leaders but a consensus has not been reached yet.

In such a situation, it is believed that Chirag and his party can take a final decision on coalition and seat sharing tomorrow.
