Patna: Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey said that with the objective of increasing the awareness and acceptance of family planning at the community level in the state, the government has now decided to observe 21st of every month as Family Planning Day.
Mangal Pandey said on Sunday that with the aim of increasing the awareness and acceptance of such planning, an initiative is being taken by the department for its wide publicity.
Under this, it has now been decided to celebrate Family Planning Day on 21st of every month. This time its first event will be held on 21st September.
He said that on this day various activities would be organized to promote such planning at all medical institutions.
The Health Minister said that this program is being started with the aim of making family planning services accessible.
This can reduce the cases of unwanted pregnancies, maternal mortality, neonatal mortality and complications related to childbirth.
He said that easy access to planning services to the general public would reduce the cases of unsafe abortions.
