In a video post on his twitter handle Union Minister for I&B and Youth Affairs & Sports, Anurag Thakur urged every citizen to watch the matches in large numbers. He also started an initiative “kick off the dream” in which he nominated three people to record a video of themselves playing football and further nominate three more people to do the same. It is aimed at showing support to our female footballers participating in FIFA World Cup for the first time.

FIFA U-17 World Cup 2022 is building on the success of the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017, which broke the record for the most attended youth World Cup in FIFA history. Through its “Kick off the dream” football carnivals, this youth tournament has touched the lives of 2,500 children, with two editions held in Odisha.
