The two-day ‘Think-20’ meeting of the G-20 countries is beginning today (Monday) at the Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center in Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate this meeting. In this meeting, more than 300 ministers, intellectuals and subject-experts from India and abroad will participate on the topic like – environment-friendly lifestyle, moral values and auspicious global good governance. 13 sessions and 2 briefing clusters will be organized on the first day of the programme.
The important ‘Think-20 meeting of the G-20 countries will be attended by intellectuals and officials from India and 94 delegates from different countries. The keynote speaker at the inaugural session will be Tetsushi Sonobe, Dean and CEO of the Asian Development Bank Institute, Tokyo.
The special speakers will be Slemet Soedarsono, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Political Affairs, Law, Security and National Development Planning, Indonesia, Harshvardhan Shringla, G-20 Chief Coordinator from India and Suman Beri, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog.
According to the HS, the session will be addressed by Enforcement Director General, Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) Sachin Chaturvedi and T-20 Chair and Director General MPIDSA Ambassador Sujon Chinoy.
On the other hand, the first G-20 Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) meeting under G20 India Presidency is being held during 16th-17th January 2023 in Pune. The forum will bring together the IWG member countries, guest countries and international organisations invited by India to discuss the 2023 Infrastructure Agenda under the Indian G20 Presidency. The meeting will be hosted by the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India along with Australia and Brazil as the co- chairs.
The G20 Infrastructure Working Group deliberates on various aspects of infrastructure investments, including developing infrastructure as an asset class, promoting quality infrastructure investment and identifying innovative instruments for mobilizing financial resources for infrastructure investment. The outcomes of the Infrastructure Working Group feed into the G20 Finance Track priorities and promote Infrastructure Development.
