Mumbai: Mumbai Police arrested accused from Bengaluru for allegedly threatening Maharashtra cabinet minister and CM Uddhav Thackeray’s son Aaditya Thackeray. An official gave this information on Thursday.
The accused Jaisingh Rajput was arrested by the cyber team of Mumbai crime branch on Saturday and brought to Mumbai, they said.
The official said that Rajput allegedly called up the minister on December 8 but he did not pick up the phone. The accused then sent a threatening message to the minister.
During investigation, the cyber police came to know that the caller’s number was from Bengaluru. A team was sent to Bengaluru, which arrested the accused, the official said.
He was later produced in a court, which remanded him to police custody. The accused is a fan of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
On the other hand, NCP leader and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik has also claimed to have received similar threats.
“The way Aaditya Thackeray got the threatening letter, we doubt whether it is linked to the organizations that killed (Narendra) Dabholkar and (Govind) Pansare,” he said. I have also received such threats. We have written to inquire about it.
