Rahul targets Modi govt over petrol-diesel prices hike

New Delhi: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday targeted the central government over the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel.

He said that it is not only because of the restrictions related to COVID that there are long queues for public transport service, but the real reason for this is the high prices of petroleum products.

He tweeted, “Long-uncomfortable queues for public transport service are not just because of the COVID restrictions. Check the price of petrol and diesel in your city to know the real reason.

The Congress has been continuously accusing the government for the last few months that it is earning lakhs and crores of rupees every year by increasing the excise duty on petrol and diesel.

In contrast, COVID is not taking steps to provide financial help to the common people at the time of crisis.

It is noteworthy that in many cities of the country, the price of petrol is more than Rs 100 per litre and the price of diesel is more than Rs 90 per litre.
