Jammu: Four earthquake tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir in less than eight hours on Tuesday. There were no reports of any casualties or damage to property, officials said.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 61 km east of Katra area of Jammu region at 2.20 am, he said.
Officials said the quake occurred at 33.07 degree north latitude and 75.58 degree east longitude at a depth of 10 km. The second earthquake of magnitude 2.6 on the Richter scale occurred at 3.21 am, 9.5 km northeast of Doda in Jammu region, he said.
The earthquake occurred at 33.23 degree north latitude and 75.56 degree east longitude at a depth of 5 km. The third earthquake of magnitude 2.8 struck 29 km east of Udhampur in Jammu region at 3:44 am today, he said.
The earthquake occurred at 32.89 degree north latitude and 75.45 degree east longitude at a depth of 10 kilometres. The fourth earthquake of magnitude 2.9 struck 26 km southeast of Udhampur at 8.03 am, he said.
The earthquake occurred at 32.83 degree north latitude and 75.40 degree east longitude at a depth of 5 kilometres. However, there was no report of any casualty or damage to property, officials said.
