Prime Minister’s Office said that on October 17, PM Modi will inaugurate a two-day program “PM Kisan Samman Sammelan” at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. PM Modi will also release the amount of 12th installment.
Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that on October 17 and 18, the Agriculture Ministry is organizing a two-day program. On October 17, under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, 16 thousand crore rupees will be deposited in the account of farmers. PM Modi will come to the campus of Pusa. There will be a big conference of farmers in the campus.
Narendra Singh Tomar also said that unseasonal rains have affected the crops. State governments are aware of this. The survey is being done where the maximum damage has occurred. The central government is committed to compensate for the loss of farmers. He said that farmers are dependent on monsoon, which is unpredictable. He said that despite all the measures, farmers are dependent on nature.
Small farmers affected by unseasonal rains
Earlier, Narendra Singh Tomar had said that small farmers have been affected by unseasonal rains in some parts of the country and they are being compensated under the government’s crop insurance scheme. He said that the agricultural sector of India and the profit and loss in agriculture depend on nature. He also said that all of you must have seen that small and marginal farmers have suffered due to unseasonal rains. Tomar said that the farmers have a security cover and they get compensation under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
