Milk price have been increased by Rs 2 per liter. Amul full cream milk which was available at Rs 61 price per liter has now become Rs 63 per litre. Increase in milk prices can spoil the budget of common people.
Let us tell you that the retail inflation rate in the country still remains around 7 percent. Recently, not only Amul had increased the price of its milk. In the month of August also, the prices of milk were increased by Amul. After 2 months in August, once again the prices of milk have been increased by Amul.
A senior Amul official said that the prices of Amul Gold and buffalo milk have been increased by Rs 2 per liter in some parts of the country. This is because of the rise in the price of milk fat. However, it is a matter of relief for Gujarat where milk prices have not been increased.
When it was increased by Rs 2 per liter in August, it was said by the company that the cost of operation and production has increased. The company claimed that the cost of animal feed alone has increased by about 20% compared to the previous year. Earlier in March also, milk prices were increased by the company.
Inflation down to 10.7 percent
Inflation based on the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) declined for the fourth straight month to 10.7 percent in September on softening prices of manufactured products, moderation in food articles and fuel prices. This is the lowest level in 18 months.
Inflation based on the Wholesale Price Index was at 12.41 per cent in the previous month i.e. in August. It was 11.80 per cent in September last year. WPI had reached a record high of 15.88 per cent in May this year. WPI inflation has shown a declining trend for the fourth consecutive month.
