Ahmedabad: Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has seized banned MD drug worth around Rs 500 crore in a raid at a manufacturing unit located on the outskirts of Vadodara city in the election season.
ATS official shared this information on Wednesday. He told that during the raid on a small factory and godown near Vadodara on Tuesday night, the ATS also arrested five people.
According to the official, preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were manufacturing MD drug under the guise of manufacturing legal chemicals, which fall under the category of narcotics. The officer said that the operation is on to bust the entire gang.
In August also seized 200 kg of mephedrone
However, he did not give further details. Officials had earlier informed that the ATS had seized 200 kg of mephedrone, estimated to be worth around Rs 1,000 crore, from a factory near Vadodara city in August this year.
