Ports, Shipping and Waterways Ministry has issued a draft on Sagarmala Innovation and Start-up Policy. This draft policy aims at nurturing start-ups and other entities working in the maritime sector.
Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said, the start-up India policy is the brainchild of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Terming this a right step to create a strong ecosystem for fostering start-ups and innovation in the nation, he said, this will surely promote innovation and entrepreneurship.
Draft policy has identified several key areas for the startups including decarbonization, maritime education, multi-modal transportation, manufacturing, advance materials, maritime cyber security, smart communication and marine electronics.
