SIT constituted to investigate Chandigarh University MMS case, 2 warden suspended

Bhagwant Mann’s government of Punjab has constituted 3-member SIT to investigate the Chandigarh University Viral Video (Chandigarh University MMS) case in Mohali.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has constituted three-member all-women special investigation team of police officers to probe the case in which Chandigarh University student allegedly made objectionable videos of her hostel mates, police said on Monday.

Three accused including a college student have been arrested in Chandigarh University MMS case. The SIT team will be under the supervision of senior IPS officer Gurpreet Kaur Dev. DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav said the electronic devices were confiscated and sent for forensic examination. The SIT will get to the bottom of the conspiracy. No person will be spared if found involved in this.

The decision has been taken in the wake of massive protests by students demanding action against allegations that objectionable videos of several students were recorded and shared on social media at Chandigarh University’s Girls Hostel in Mohali by a fellow hosteller. . Two accused have been arrested and one has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
