Delhi: fire by LPG cylinder, 2 children scorched

New Delhi: A six-year-old boy and his brother suffered burns after an LPG cylinder caught fire at a house in Mandawali in east Delhi. Police gave this information on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Priyanka Kashyap said that a call was received on the Police Control Room (PCR) about the incident at around 3.30 pm on Wednesday.

2 kids were trapped inside house

On reaching the spot, two children were found trapped inside the house, he said. He said that he was immediately taken out and taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital for treatment.

Kashyap said that a three-year-old boy suffered minor burns in the incident and was discharged after first aid. However, his elder brother was taken to Safdarjung Hospital for treatment.

He said that preliminary investigation revealed that the mother of the children was cooking food when the LPG cylinder was suspected to have caught fire due to the gas leak. He said that investigation is on to ascertain the exact cause of the fire.
