Server of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi remained down for the eighth day and according to sources, after the suspension of two analysts of Delhi, there may be more suspensions for violating cyber security.
As per sources, “The sanitizing process started, earlier it was 15 but now 25 out of 50 servers and over 400 endpoint computers have been scanned. Antivirus uploading has also been started for future protection.
Union Home Ministry held a high level meeting
The incident of server hacking in Delhi AIIMS has also given sleepless nights to the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Union Home Ministry has also held a high level meeting regarding the AIIMS server hack. Apart from IB, NIA, Delhi Police and AIIMS administration, top officials of Computer Response Emergency System attended the meeting.
According to the information received from the sources, the meeting discussed the direction in which the investigation in the hacking case is progressing so far. On Tuesday, AIIMS also issued a statement that the e-hospital data has been restored, “The e-hospital data has been restored on the server. The network is being sanitized before services are restored.
This process is taking some time. Volume of data and large number of servers/computers for hospital services. Measures are being taken for cyber security.” All hospital services, including outpatient, inpatient, laboratories, etc. run on manual mode.
