Srinagar: On Tuesday evening, two terrorists killed a J&K cop with pistol on outskirts. Police said that on Tuesday evening, two unidentified terrorists fired indiscriminately at police inspector in front of local mosque when he was going to offer prayers at 8 pm, police said.

Incident took place in Menganwaji Nowgam area of Srinagar district. Senior police officer inspected the spot.
Police said that, preliminary investigation revealed that two terrorists fired a pistol at a police inspector Parvez Ahmed Dar son Ghulam Nabi Dar when he was on his way to offer Maghrib prayers.
According to the police, Parvez was seriously injured in this terrorist incident and was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries and was martyred.
“We pay our tributes to the martyr, who left his wife and two young children orphans. They have a 13-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son,” the police officer said.
Police said the CCTV footage showed two terrorists firing with pistols, whose identity is being ascertained. The suspects are also being interrogated.
Police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of the law. Investigation is on and the area has been cordoned off.
