Mumbai: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested an absconding accused in a narcotics case involving the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Also seized narcotics worth Rs 2.5 crore during a raid in Mumbai. NCB officials told about this on Wednesday.
NCB officials said, “This is the biggest drug seizure in the case involving Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.”
The official said the accused Regal Mahakal was arrested late Tuesday night after raids in some areas including Mumbai’s Lokhandwala.
The investigation agency team led by NCB regional director Sameer Wankhede carried out the operation.
The official said, ‘Malana Cream’ worth Rs 2.5 crore was seized during the raid. The raid continues.
Another person was arrested during the raid, but not much details are available about him.
Mahakaal’s name came to light during interrogation of some drug traffickers in the case.
Mahakal used to supply narcotics to the accused Anuj Keshwani. Keshavani was also arrested in September on charges of drug trafficking.
Sushant was found dead in his Bandra flat in June this year. The NCB is investigating the alleged use of narcotics in some parts of Bollywood.
The investigation was initiated after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Rajput’s friend Riya Chakraborty, his brother Shouvik, some Rajput employees and others were arrested in the case.
