Patna: Bihar Police has arrested 13 people in connection with stone pelting on Chief Minister (CM) Nitish Kumar’s convoy in Patna on Sunday, Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said on Monday, pelting stones at Kumar’s convoy in the evening. Gaya, who was leaving for his scheduled journey on Monday.
However, the Chief Minister was not present in the convoy. According to a report by news agency PTI, the incident took place around 5 pm in Sohdi Mode of Gauri Chuk police station area, when a road was being blocked over the death of a local person.
Patna district magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh said, “When the protesters saw the chief minister’s (CM) advance convoy, they pelted stones, causing minor damage to three-four vehicles.”
Singh said that on receiving information about stone pelting, a police force was sent to the area and the crowd was dispersed. The DM said, “A case has been registered against 15. We are analyzing the CCTV footage and will arrest the remaining four people soon.”
