Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished everyone happiness and prosperity by performing Rudrabhishek at Shri Kedarnath Dham today. He also visited the Samadhi Sthal of Adiguru Shankaracharya. Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami were present on the occasion.
PM Modi also laid the foundation stone of the 9.7 km long Gaurikund-Kedarnath Ropeway to be built at a cost of ₹1267 crore. With the construction of this ropeway, it will be easy for the devotees to have darshan of Baba Kedar.
After inspecting the various reconstruction and development works on Mandakini and Saraswati Aastha Path, the PM met the workers engaged in the reconstruction work and encouraged them.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Prem Chand Agarwal, MLA Shaila Rani Rawat, Chief Secretary Dr. S. S Sandhu, District Magistrate Rudraprayag Mayur Dixit, SP Ayush Agarwal, Teerth Purohit Vinod Shukla were present.
